Through extensive research into the Ontario retirement residence market, the Town of Newmarket has been identified as having an underserviced retirement market.  With a very supportive feasibility study, The Forrest Group has located a site at 17645 Yonge Street that is well suited as a Retirement Continuum.  Through the development of several communities in Newmarket, The Forrest Group has a solid track record working in the Town of Newmarket and has established strong working relationships with both staff and politicians.

Overall Project Goals

Create a new business opportunity by developing a Retirement Continuum on the site. It is intended that we will create discreet land parcels via a Plan of Subdivision, the cost of which will be shared by the 4 phases.

 

 

Site Information  

The site is located just north of the intersection of Yonge Street and Davis Drive, in central Newmarket, directly across from Upper Canada Mall.  The site offers great visibility and ease of access, as it is on a major street, and it is in close proximity to other major thoroughfares of the town.  The site is close to churches, shopping, medical centres, a world class hospital, parks and other community amenities.

- 23 Storeys: Apartment Building - 184 Units  

- Medical Centre – 12,000 Square Feet

- 3 Storey CRU / Office – 24,180 Square Feet 

 

B. 387 Parking Spaces comprised of:

- Below Grade: 528 spaces on 4 levels  

- Surface: 0 spaces

- Total Parking: 528 spaces

 

 

PHASE # 3

A. 23 Storey Building comprised of:

- 23 Storey Apartment Building - 155 Units

- 3 Storey CRU / Office - 43,870 Square Feet

 

B. 404 Parking Spaces comprised of:

- Below Grade: 392 spaces on 4 levels

- Surface: 0 spaces

- Total Parking: 392 spaces

 

 

PHASE # 4

A. 7 Storey Retirement Residence - 212 Suites (or a long term care facility)

 

B. 176 Parking Spaces comprised of:

- Below Grade: 176 spaces on 4 levels  

- Total Parking: 176 spaces
